K&L Gates wastes no time

Another day, another K&L Gates hire.

Once upon a time this used to be a Pittsburgh-based firm. It would be stretching a point to use that description for K&L Gates these days.

Earlier this year we reported that it was the fastest-growing US firm in the London market (see story). Much of that growth was derived from mini bolt-ons and lateral partner hires.

The latest hire came yesterday (29 June), when K&L Gates took on DLA Piper waste projects partner John Chandler.

As anyone in the know is aware, waste is big business these days. Or, as K&L Gates' London administrative partner Tony Griffiths puts it: "John's experience will prove invaluable in meeting [our] clients' present and future requirements in what is a rapidly growing market".

A rapidly growing market for a rapidly growing firm. Good to see that even though the firm hasn't escaped layoffs, its legal talent isn't going to, er, waste.
